Geckos Beachcomber Tour - Day 1

Day 1: Bangkok
Your trip starts today with your arrival in Bangkok. No activities are planned until your evening group meeting, so you may arrive at any time. Please check the noticeboard in the hotel lobby, located on the ground floor, for a notice containing details of your tour. This will advise you of your tour leader’s name, telephone number and the time and location of your group meeting. Normally this meeting takes place around 6pm. Until your meeting we encourage you to get out and discover the delights that Bangkok has to offer, including Thailand’s famous cuisine. Make sure that you take a hotel business card so that you will be able to find your way back to the hotel. Please note that your tour leader will collect the local payment during your group meeting, so be sure to take your money along together with your travel insurance details.

This morning we had to check out of our hotel after breakfast. We all had laundry to do so we spent a good part of the morning trying to sort out how to achieve this - bangkok is not the place for laundromats so it is laundry services but we needed our clothes back asap so we had some trouble. We finally found somewhere to go the clothes but we couldnt collect them until 8pm that night. We went and had some lunch, and then Jesse went for his suit fitting while the rest of us went back to the hotel. We then caught a taxi to our new hotel where the tour started from. Our meeting wasnt until 6pm so we all had naps and then meet the rest of our tour group that night. Rob, Zoie and I all went to dinner with the group while John and Jesse collected the laundry. Dinner with the group was really great and John and Jesse joined us just as were were getting ready to go. We went back to the hotel early cause we were all so tired - not sure why but it was a great idea at the time!
